Hua Hin
When a Bangkok family wants a quiet, relaxing weekend by the sea with clean for
Swimming and uncrowned fine sandy beach, they go to Hua Hin, just over 200 kms
away to the south on Petchkasem Highway.
Hua Hin is a charming old- fashioned beach resort and a fishing town of
Prachuab Hkiri Hkan Province on the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand.
Hua Hin in Thai means stone head. Off the main beach are rock outcrops
Jutting out of the sea water that gives the beach its name.
To the right of the beach walk, stretches the fabled shoreline of Hua Hin,
A white plain of fine sand reaching off to the distant Khao Takiab
Hua Hin beach has been given 4-star status by the Govt.
Agency (ATA) and is the second best beach in Thailand.
The beach from Hilton to Khao Takiab is wide and odeal for swimming from infants

Visitors can walk or jog all along the beach till Khao Takiab,

Khao Takiab Mountain with chopstick-that is what it means literally.Travel past Hyatt Regency and stay left, past fisherman’s village.
The road gets steep and there are stalls selling merchandise made of sea shells.
There is a Buddha temple at top of the hill while going sideways.
On going straight there is an open area where beautiful Chinese Goddess is built.
There will be many Monkeys on the way. Evenings are very pleasant here.
Mrigadayavan Palace This all teak summer Palace was built
In 1923 by HM King Rama VI. The palace stands on 1,080 concrete pillars
And houses King’s bedroom, working room, receiving guests including his
Personal belongings. Corridors are long and airy.
Wear loose and comfortable clothes with cap and sun glasses.

Khao Tao should be visited, whether you’re in Hua Hin
10 km. doen from hua hin going towaeds Pranburi, look for Khao Tao
This at present is the most sought after residential place.
Opposite the Kho Tao place close to the nature.
Straight down the road would lead to a hill top wat with huge glorious Buddha
In a sitting posture. There’s smaller standing image as well, a wat and a cave.
Cool breeze and soothing music from wat will cool anyone’s nerves.
The wat has terrace and a sala overlooking the endless beach and sea.
Night Market Located close to the clock tower on the other side of
Petchkasem road is a must for every visitor.
Food is the prime attraction here but freshness is not guaranteed.
Please ensure food is fresh and well cooked.
For fish see that eyes are transparent and gills are deep red.
Eat live crabs.
Hin Lek Fai Take right turn at chomin road (hua hin 70)
going towards Pa La-U waterfall. follow hin lek fai sing and climb
the steep mountain. Here are six vantage points from where you can see
Hua Hin from one end to another. The best viwe is from point 5-6
and has a bird sanctuary. Digital cameras are handy.
Pa La-U water fall Full day excursion to the jungle close
to the Burmese border. the journey takes you through a region of uninhabited
peaks and valleys to the Pa La-U waterfall. After a nature walk throgh the
forest, you reach the first level of the waterfall and then continue to cilmb
up to the second or third stage. After third stage climbing, forest becomes
thick. You can bathe at stage three. Food and dring are forbidden but bring
you food and have just near the entrance along the stream. You can have
great picnic. Tents are allowed for overnight stay.
Eco River Trip Sit back and admire the magnificent and flora
fauna of the Pak Nam P ran Biri, Pran buri area in complete silence
while crising in brand new luxury river boat.
Sam Roy Yot The Inter National Park approximately 60 km south of
Hua Hin, Is a favorite among bird watchers during this time of the year.
Thailand’s first marine park, offers quiet white sandy beaches and towering
limestone outcroppings.There are 3 caves, worth a visit but early in the morning.
The park has a restaurant as well.
Both Pa La-U waterfall and Sam Roy Yot deserve full day trip.
